The Ministry of National Defence participates, as official partner of the Romanian Tennis Federation and Media Production Group, in the BCR Open Romania International Women`s Tennis Tournament, organized at Arenele BNR, on 16-22 July.

The 30th 'Mihai Viteazul' Guard Regiment will offer some entertaining moments consisting in military music and exercises offered by the drill-team of the regiment, from 15.00 to 15.30, on Saturday and from 12.00, on Sunday.

For the duration of the tournament, the Ministry of National Defence displays an exhibition stand in the commercial area of Arenele BNR. There, the public would have the opportunity to see prizes won by 'Steaua' Bucuresti Sports Club, equipment of the Land Forces troops as well as the educational offer of the military institutions.

Colonel Virgil-Ovidiu Pop, commander of the 30th 'Mihai Viteazul' Guard Regiment, present at the press conference held for the opening of the competition said that military men and sportsmen are the best ambassadors of Romania, whether in theaters of operations or by winning prestigious international competitions.

'There are many resemblances between military men and sportsmen, such as physical and psychological capacities, strict training and discipline needed for professional accomplishment. They are the ones promoting the image of the country and they deserve the respect of all Romanian people', Colonel Pop added.
