State Secretary and chief of Department for Armaments Eng. Gheorghe Matache together with NATO Deputy General Secretary for Defence Investments, Mr. Marshall S. Billingslea opened today May 27, 04 at the National Military Cercle the 36th Session of Scientific Papers organized by the Agency of Military Technical and Technological Research.
Specialists from scientific, academic and universitary environment from Romania and representatives of the Romanian and foreign companies acting in defence industry are participating to this Session.
In his speech Eng. Gheorghe Matache reviewed the place and the role of research in developing the military capabilities, stating: “this Session represents an effective argument in declaring the research-development activity is supporting the important scientific competency allowing the conceive of modern and effective armaments and techniques according to the necessities of restructure and operationalization of the structures of forces within the Romanian Armed Forces, and the interoperability with NATO”.
Mr. Billingslea appreciated how Romania acts as an allied within NATO and presented the long term priority objectives for which the scientific environment is asked for solutions in order to develop the military capabilities.
