The Minister of National Defence, Corneliu Dobritoiu, participates, on Tuesday, 21 August, from 10.00, in the ceremony marking the return of the 2nd Maneuver Battalion from Afghanistan, organized at the headquarters of the 282nd Mechanized Brigade in Focsani.

Most of the over 650 troops, who manned the 2nd Maneuver Battalion for six months, belong to the 280th Mechanized Battalion and were replaced in the theater of operations by troops of the 33rd 'Posada' Mountain Battalion.

The Colors of the 280th and the 300th Mechanized Battalions, that are part of the 282nd 'Unirea Prinicipatelor' Mechanized Brigade, will be decorated with Order 'Virtutea Militara', rank of officer with war military insignia.

Relatives of the troops, active and reserve military personnel and representatives of the local authorities were invited to attend the ceremony.
