A C 27 J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force, took off this morning, around 8.30, to France to repatriate nine Romanian citizens injured in the car accident produced on September 2, on A8 Highway, in the Southern region of the country.

A SMURD team made up of three doctors and four nurses trained to offer medical care to the patients during their transportation were on board of the military aircraft headed by Commander Viorel Pana, pilot and Captain Florin Ianculescu, co-pilot.

The military aircraft will return to the country around 20.00 on the International Airport from Iasi.

The humanitarian mission was approved by the Minister of National Defence, Corneliu Dobritoiu, at the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
