The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, met, on Thursday, September 13, at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters, with the Chief of General Staff of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, General Sir David Richards, who is visiting our country following the official invitation of his Romanian counterpart.

The two officials discussed about the Romanian Armed Forces transformation process and the reorganization priorities of the military system. Also, the Romanian Armed Forces` participation in the theaters of operations and NATO`s plans after Afghanistan were some of the topics listed on the meeting agenda.

Also, the Minister of National Defence, Corneliu Dobritoiu, had an office call today with General David Richards. Topics as the future defence budgets, the international security environment, the missions of the two armed forces in Afghanistan and the development of the bilateral relations were approached during the meeting of the two officials.

The British delegation`s calendar comprises also the visiting of the 2nd 'Calugareni' Infantry Battalion.

The Chief of General Staff of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, General Sir David Richards, will participate at NATO`s Military Committee Conference that is to take place between 14 to 16 September, at Sibiu.
