Over 200 militaries from Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary will participate in the multinational exercise Blonde Avalanche 2012 that will be conducted between 17 to 21 September, at Braila.

The main objective of Blonde Avalanche 2012 is to train 'TISA' Multinational Engineer Battalion`s personnel for the execution of the specific mission of limiting and relieving the natural disaster`s effects.

Military observers from China, Moldova, Serbia and the United States of America will also participate in this exercise.

The opening ceremony of the exercise will take place on Monday, September 17, at 8.00, in the Independentei Square from Braila, and The Distinguished Visitors` Day will be celebrated on Thursday, September 20, beginning with 9.45, in Varsatura Firing Range.

The journalists interested in participating must submit their accreditation requests until Friday, September 14, at 15.00, at the Public Information Centre of the exercise which is located at 10th 'Dunarea de Jos' Engineer Brigade Headquarters, from Braila. Blonde Avalanche 2012 is at its tenth edition, representing the regional initiative of the four states located in Tisa River`s basin of making up an engineer multinational battalion with the mission of limiting and relieving the effects of the possible natural disasters.

For the third time this year, Romania took over the command of this initiative from Hungary.
