A delegation from the Romanian Ministry of National Defence, headed by the Secretary of State Sebastian Huluban paid an official visit to Washington D.C., September 2-6, where the talks approached topics mainly referred to economic crisis` impact on defence field, Romania`s implication in NATO`s partnership agenda, latest developments on implementation of the anti missile defence shield and the situation in Middle East.

The talks took place at the Department of State, Department of Defense, National Defense University and the visit program included also a signing ceremony for the \'Agreement between Romanian Ministry of National Defence and the US Department of Defense on the medical assistance offered to the armed forces` members and their dependents\'.

At the Holocaust Memorial Museum, Secretary of State Huluban also met Mr.Paul A. Shapiro, the Director of the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies, and Mr. Radu Ioanid, the Director of the International Archives Program in order to analyze the possibility to maintain the implementation of the Cooperation Protocol.

Romanian delegation had meetings with representatives of the American academic and research environment as well, while the Secretary of Starte Huluban had a consistent dialog with Dennis Deletant, Chuck Hagel and Charles King, reputed professors at the Georgetown University.

Secretary of State Sebastian Huluban also met James R. Locher III, executive director of the Project on National Security Reform and former assistant of Defense for special operations and low intensity conflicts. At the end of the visit, Mr. Huluban was the guest of the round table on \'The Perspectives of Romania’s Defence Policy\' hosted by the Atlantic Council, as a part of the Interational Security Program.
