A delegation of the Ministry of National Defence headed by minister Corneliu Dobritoiu, participates, over 2 to 4 October, in the South-Eastern Defence Ministerial (SEDM), organized in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The reunion agenda includes topics regarding SEDM projects, activities of the Political-Military Steering Committee (PMSC) and SEDM-CC (South-Eastern Defence Ministerial Coordination Committee) for this year. An analysis will be made of the state of play of the SEDM strategic review and the activities conducted by the Multinational Peace Force of South Eastern Europe since the last defence ministerial.

The following nations are part of this initiative: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, FYROM, Greece, Italy, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, the USA, Turkey and Ukraine, while Georgia and the Republic of Moldova are observers.

From 2013 to 2015, Romania will take over the chairmanship of the Political Military Steering Committee of the Multinational Peace Force of South Eastern Europe (PMSC/MPFSEE) and South-Eastern Defence Ministerial Coordination Committee (SEDM-CC), for the second time after the mandate of 2001-2003.
