The Minister of National Defence Corneliu Dobritoiu will participate, from 09.00 on Wednesday, 31 October 2012, in the seminar on 'Smart Defence and Defence Investment' organized by 'Carol I' National Defence University, the Academy of Romanian Scientists (Military Science Section) and the Security Studies and Analysis Centre in the Assembly Hall of the 'Carol I' University Central Library, of 1 Boteanu St., sector 1, Bucharest.

Smart Defence concept, devised at Chicago NATO Summit of May 2012, represents the Alliance response to the challenge of making the most of limited resources, in the context of the economic and financial crisis, without affecting meeting NATO strategic goal, generally known as 'NATO Forces 2020'. The event creates the favorable frame of approaching the concept and creating cooperation opportunities with a view to the policies for implementing Smart Defence in Romania.

The event will be attended by high NATO officials, decision makers from the main government and military and political structures, as well as companies with a long partnership tradition in the defence industry.
