Admiral William Harry McRaven, Commander, U.S. Special Operations Command and Major General Michael S. Repass, the Commander of Special Operations Command Europe were decorated during a ceremony organized at the Ministry of National Defence on Wednesday, 31 October.

Defence minister Corneliu Dobritoiu offered Major General Michael S. Repass the Emblem of Honor of the Romanian Armed Forces as a token of appreciation for his entire career and special merits, that contributed to increase the prestige of the Romanian military, whereas presidential adviser Iulian Fota awarded Admiral McRaven, the National Order The Star of Romania, rank of commander, with military insignia.

'I hold the two US officials in high esteem for the support offered to the Romanian military in its efforts to develop the capabilities of the special operation forces and we are honored to conduct missions together in the theaters of operations' minister Corneliu Dobritoiu declared.
