The Minister of National Defence, Corneliu Dobritoiu, received Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, Deputy Secretary General of NATO, at the defence ministry headquarters on Friday, 9 November.

The two officials discussed the implications and the implementation of smart defence, the transformation of the Romanian military and its role in NATO and the Alliance`s main lines of action in the next period.

The Deputy Secretary General of NATO Alexander Vershbow is special envoy for Smart Defence and chairman of NATO Steering Committee on intelligence.
