The Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, awarded the Emblem of Honor of the General Staff to His Excellency, Mark H. Gitenstein, the U.S. Ambassador to Bucharest, during a ceremony that took place at the US Embassy in Romania, on Monday, 3 December.

The distinction was offered as 'a token of appreciation for the consistent support in maintaining and furthering the cooperation between the two armed forces and for the contribution to the prestige of the Romanian military'.

The ceremony was attended by generals and officers of the general Staff and the military services.
