The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, ordered that a C-27 J Spartan aircraft of the Romanian Air Force should carry out a humanitarian mission on Thursday, 3 January, to save the life of a 17 years old young man.

The patient, victim of an explosion that caused burns on 70 percent of the body, will be taken from Cluj Napoca to Bucharest, assisted during transport by both a SMURD and a military medical team.

The intervention took place at the request of State Secretary Raed Arafat, on behalf of the Ministry of Healthcare.

The crew of the aircraft of the 90th Airlift Flotilla consisted of Lieutenant-Commander Florin Ianculescu and Captain Romeo Garz.
