The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, and the chief of General Staff, Lieutenant-General Stefan Danila, will participate in the ceremony marking the deployment of the 2nd Yellow Scorpions Maneuver Battalion to Afghanistan, organized in Victoriei Square in Timisoara, from 09.00, on Tuesday, 8 January.

The troops of the 2nd Yellow Scorpions' Maneuver Battalion will carry out missions in their area of responsibility in Zabul Province, for six months. They will ensure a secure environment, appropriate for the transfer of responsibility to Afghan forces.

The event will be attended by representatives of the defence ministry leadership, local and county authorities, and institutions of the national defence system, families and relatives of the 2nd Yellow Scorpions Maneuver Battalion troops.
