Inpatient and outpatient medical care in military medical treatment facilities may be furnished without cost to foreign force members and their dependents that are stationed in the national territory of the USA and Romania, respectively.

The Agreement between the Ministry of National Defence of Romania and the Department of Defense of the United States of America, adopted based on the Government decision of 23 January, concerns health care provided for military members and their dependents, agreement that was signed in Washington, on 6 September 2012.

The Agreement sets the legal framework of the health care provided mutually by the Minister of National Defence and the Department of Defense of the United States of America, in full compliance with the Romanian legislation.

The said Agreement was signed based on Decision No. 63 of 31.07.2012 of the Supreme Council of National Defence that approved that this bilateral document be negotiated and signed.
