The State Secretary for Parliament Liaison, Public Information and Personnel Welfare, Vasile Costea, chaired the working session of the Central Commission on Social Problems of the Ministry of National Defence that took place at the defence ministry location on Thursday, 31 January.
Thirty-five medical and social cases were taken into discussion. According to procedures, the decision was taken to forward them to and be financed by the "Camarazii" Charity Association of the Romanian Armed Forces and Land Forces Foundation, Saint George the Dragon Slayer .
The money allotted by the two foundations would be used to pay medical treatments, surgery or medical investigations, for medicine, prosthesis or other medical devices.
The Central Commission on Social Problems of the Ministry of National Defence was established by Minister's Order No. 59/2001. Its activity consists in analyzing and identifying solutions for social problems of military and civilian personnel of the armed forces, reserve and retired personnel, veterans, wounded soldiers and invalids, families of deceased soldiers.
