The State Secretary for Parliament Liaison, Public Information and Personnel Welfare, Vasile Costea, visited Sergeant Daniel Porumb, on Monday, 4 February, at 'Dr. Carol Davila' Military Hospital, where he is hospitalized.

State Secretary Vasile Costea was interested to find the present state and evolution of the soldier’s health and decided together with the team of doctors the measures to be taken in order improve the hospitalization conditions.

Daniel Porumb, was injured on 14 April, 2007, while in mission in Iraq with the 495th Infantry Battalion, after the armored personnel carrier he was in toppled, near Tallil. Sergeant Porumb went into surgery at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (Germany) and followed specialized treatment at 'Hongtianji' Neurology Institute, in China.

The 32-year old soldier is still immobilized and undergoes a medical recovery program at the military hospital.

The State Secretary was accompanied by the deputy chief of the Department for Parliament Liaison and Public Information, Colonel Marcel Voicescu, the chief of the Medical Directorate, Major General Ioan Sirbu, and the hospital commander, Colonel Aurelian-Emil Ranetti.
