The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa and the chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, participated in the annual reports of the Air Force Staff and the Navy Staff.

The chiefs of the two military services briefed the leadership of the defence ministry on the achievements and the problems they had over the year.

The defence minister said, while at the Air Force Staff, that he participated already in the annual reports of the subordinate structures, which made him aware of the particular problems of the Air Force.

'As to the acquisition of the multirole aircraft, I have guarantees for the payment of the first installment, the issue here being identifying the aircraft to buy', minister Dusa declared.

The chief of General Staff also emphasized, that the best solution would be found for the acquisition of the multirole aircraft as well as for the payment of C-27 J Spartan aircraft.

Lieutenant General Danila thanked all for the way the Air Force assisted local authorities in managing emergencies and for last year’s achievements.

At the end of the meeting, Minister Dusa told those present that they could rely on his support to bring military aviation up to the level where they can carry out any type of missions.

At the meeting for the annual report of the Navy Staff, the defence minister appreciated the efforts of the Navy Staff and its subordinate units, especially the flotilla of Constanta that contributed to the accomplishment of all the goals of the Ministry of National Defence.

'I am aware of the efforts you made during 'ATALANTA' mission in the Aden Gulf, which was a great success for our seamen and contributed to the meeting of EU strategic goals', the minister declared at the meeting. He continued along the same line saying that the present budget is bigger than that of the last years and that he wishes that the next annual report would show higher performance indices.

The chief of General Staff added that Navy personnel will continue to participate in NATO operations, that they are true professionals and that the participation, in turns, in such missions will only increase their training and achievement level.

The annual reports of the central structures of the Ministry of National Defence will continue until the end of the month.
