Defence Ministry leadership participated in the Annual Report of the Department for Armaments

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, and the chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, participated in the Annual Report of the Department for Armaments, on Wednesday, 20 February.
The Annual Report was presented at C.N. ROMTEHNICA S.A. by State Secretary for Armaments, Floarea Serban, who briefed on the main performance indices of the department's areas of responsibility, the achievements and this year's goals.
The Department for Armaments responded very well to all requests if we take into account the financial constraints. We hope that in the circumstances of an increased budget we would be able to have better results where procurement and necessary equipment are concerned, necessary to meet our goals' Floarea Serban said.
The Minister of National Defence thanked the personnel for their activity and said he was convinced that the way the specialists of this structure were trained and formed until now, especially the determination of the entire personnel are essential in ensuring, maintaining and developing the capabilities of the Romanian Armed Forces, where the Department for Armaments plays a fundamental role.
'We took the necessary steps with the Ministry of Finance for a 0.3 percent annual increase of the budget, which means that by 2016 the Defence Ministry budget should reach 2 percent of the GDP; the defence procurement strategies should be made based on this approved objective', Minister Dusa said.
In turn, the chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, thanked the leadership of the Department for Armaments for their support and the way they cooperated with the other military structures.
