The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, signed today, 27 February, the appointment order of Major General Ariton Ionita as commander of the Control and Inspection Body of the Ministry of National Defence.

General Ionita was born in 1960 and graduated as top of his class from both the Military School for Engineer Officers of Ramnicu-Valcea (1982) and the Command and Staff Faculty of the Military Academy (1989). He attended the Command and Staff College – the Post-graduate Command Course for Brigade Commanders (1995) and the National Defence College (2007).

Starting in 1999, he held command positions at different levels in the Land Forces Staff and he was commander of the 10th 'Dunarea de Jos' Engineer Brigade and Braila Garrison. At present, he is commander of the Joint Logistics Command.
