Special Operations Forces - Ten Years of Existence

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, congratulated the Special Operations Forces during a ceremony that marked ten years since the structure was established, organized at the 6th 'Mihai Viteazul' Special Operations Brigade of Targu-Mures.

'I want to thank you for your conduct in the theaters of operations and I salute the supreme sacrifice made by your comrades. Let us take a moment of recollection for the heroes of the Romanian Armed Forces', was the defence minister’s message to those attending the activity in Targu-Mures.

Minister Dusa pointed out the important role played by the troops participating in missions abroad in building a positive image of Romania at international level. 'You are Romania`s image at international level and I congratulate you for this and I am proud when a NATO or allied country official speaks highly of your achievements', Mircea Dusa said.

'As defence minister I will do everything in my power to ensure that your training will be financed in a balanced way so that you can carry out your activity in the best conditions', minister Dusa added.

The Minister of National Defence thanked Colonel Roderick Dorsey, the US Defense Attache, for his continuous support of the Romanian-American partnership, so important for our country.

Beside the Special Forces troops` and heroes` families, the ceremony of Targu Mures was attended by the chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, the Director General of the Defence Intelligence General Directorate, Major General Marian Hapau, representatives of military services and local officials.
