Minister Mircea Dusa Met with the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Romania

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, met with the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Romania, Dan Ben-Eliezer at defence ministry headquarters, on Monday, 4 March.

The two officials talked of the developments in the Middle East and the military cooperation relations.

'We understand the concern of the Israeli authorities for the protection and security of their citizens and we reiterate our position that a peaceful solution should be found to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We are also concerned for the humanitarian dimension of the situation in Gaza, also from the perspective of Romanian citizens’ presence in the area', Minister Dusa stated.

Discussing the ways to further the existing strategic dialogue between our military institutions, the two officials agreed to conduct common training at service level, including in counter terror techniques.

In turn, Ambassador Dan Ben-Eliezer emphasized that the State of Israel is one of the most important partners of Romania in defence industry, as the programs conducted until now were successful.
