The Minister of Ntional Defence, Mircea Dusa, met with Rose Gottemoeller, Acting US Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, at the ministry headquarters on Monday, April 22nd.

Minister Mircea Dusa emphasized the importance of this meeting and reiterated the fact that Romania is a reliable partner for the United States of America by respecting its commitments and partnerships.

'We would like to thank you for the support given to our militaries from Afghanistan and counselling offered in the field of the special operations forces'training ', said minister Dusa to the US official.

Also, our defence minister informed the US official with respect to the situation of the Romanian militaries deployed in Afghanistan, the status of the works in Deveselu military base and of the multirole aircraft procurement program.

At the same time, the US Under Secretary, Rose Gottemoeller, restated the United States' support in all partneships formed with our country, including the withdrawal of the Romanian troops from Afghanistan and thanked in her return for Romania's involvement in the anti-missile shield project.
