The Chief of General Staff's Official Visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, the chief of General Staff, made an official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland following his British counterpart's invitation, over April 17-20.
During the talks with the British Chief of Defence, General Sir David Richards, the two officials discussed about the current NATO operations, Romania's contribution to Afghanistan being emphasized. A special attention was given to the cooperation between the two armed forces after 2014 with a view to maintaining and further developing the common training and interoperability standards.
During his visit, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila also had meetings with officials of the British armed force's structures when topics such as the military transformation process, current participation stage in international missions as well as current procurement programs were approached.
While visiting the Royal Air Force College Cranwell and Royal Air Force base in Waddington, the chief of General Staff showed interest in the training and professional development program of the air force commissioned officers and the Royal Air Force's surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities.
