The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, congratulated retired General Marin Dragnea during a ceremony organized for his birthday on Wednesday, 29 May.

On this occasion, the defence minister emphasized that war veterans represent a standard and are a symbol for the entire army. At the same time, the minister spoke highly of retired General Dragnea`s efforts, to gain respect for all the troops, from soldier to general, who fought in WW2, to make them appreciated and to help them enjoy the rights they are entitled to.

Retired General Marin Dragnea turns 90 on Thursday, 30 May. He has been president of the National Association of War Veterans since 1990. He was decorated with National Oder \"Star of Romania\" in rank of Commander in 2000, while in 2004 he was awarded the order in rank of Grand Officer, in token of appreciation of his bravery and courage during WW2.
