The Ministry of National Defence, the Prefect`s Office and the Mayor`s Office of Bucharest organize a public ceremony dedicated to the Day of the National Flag, in Tricolorului Square, in front of the Palace of the National Military Club:

On Tuesday, 25 June, from 19.00, there will be a short ceremony of lowering the flag, which will be laid at the church of the 30th 'Mihai Viteazul' Guard Regiment, in 5-7 Blvd. Gl. Vasile Milea.

On Wednesday, 26 June, from 09.00, the flag will be brought in the square, will be blessed by a military priest and will be hoisted against the musical background of the national anthem.

Representatives of civilian, military and religious institutions were invited to participate in the event along with foreign defence attaches accredited to Bucharest, war veterans, reserve and retired military personnel.

Military personnel from other garrisons in the country will participate in ceremonies for hoisting the national flag organized by local authorities. Also, activities evoking the flag`s history will be organized in large units and commands.

The Day of the National Flag was established by Law 96/1998, being celebrated on an annual basis on 26 June.
