The chief of General Staff-s official visit to The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

On Thursday, July 18th, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila, the chief of General Staff, participated in the investiture ceremony of the new Chief of Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, General Sir Nicholas Houghton, following his British counterpart`s invitation.

General Sir David Richards handed over the command to the new Chief of Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, General Sir Nicholas Houghton.

During the ceremony, Lieutenant General Stefan Danila thanked for the good relationship he had with his British counterpart and mentioned that he hoped the collaboration between the two armed forces will continue.

'We are open to regular bilateral discussions on current and common interest topics such as Smart Defence, Pooling and Sharing, international security environment, regional cooperation and post 2014 Afghanistan' declared the chief of the Romanian General Staff.
