The Scouts' Summer Camp

The fifth edition of the 'Scouts' Summer Camp' begins on Monday, July 29th, at 'Mircea cel Batran' Naval Academy from Constanta and will be conducted throughout 7 days in the Romanian Naval Forces' military units.

The camp is organized by the Information and Public Relations Directorate of the Ministry of Defence and 'CAMARAZII' Charity Association of the Romanian Armed Forces together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the support of the Naval Forces Staff. This year edition's theme of the summer camp is the military navy with the following motto: 'Be the best! Be up to the mark! Among the camp's objectives we can enumerate the assimilation of basic knowledge about the Romanian Armed Forces, the promotion of the military profession, presentation of certain military structures as well as the development of the physical attributes and the competitive and team spirit of the young participants.

The summer camp's schedule consists of interactive activities where the young scouts will learn basic notions of naval reconnaissance, terrain orientation procedures, survival techniques in isolated areas, crossing waters, as well as other military tactical elements.

At the same time, the young people will participate in sports competitions (volleyball, handball, football), navy games and will visit the Naval Forces' military units from Constanta and Tulcea Counties as well as touristic spots from Constanta.

The participants, 42 students, girls and boys from the entire country were selected following a national competition conducted on-line on www.mapn.ro/tabara web-site, over 24 May - 23 June, 2013.
