On Wednesday, 21 August, representatives of military medical institutions will participate in wreath-laying ceremonies at the Memorial of Medical Orderlies from 08.30, at the statue of the founder of military medicine, Division General, Doctor Carol Davila at the military hospital, from 11.30, for the celebration 151 years since the establishment of the Corps of Medical Officers.

The ceremonies will end with an anniversary event organized in the Hall of the military hospital ambulatory center, at 12.00.

Representatives of the leadership of the Ministry of National Defence were invited to participate in the event, along with public authorities and institutions, academia, active military personnel of the Medical Directorate of the MoND, reserve and retired military personnel.

On August 21, 1862 by the High Decree no. 4629 the Corps of Medical Officers was established within the armed forces, thus the Military Medicine being certified as the specialized service in charge with the health care of the military.
