The National Association of War Veterans organized a wreath-laying ceremony at WW2 Heroes' Memorial, with the support of the Ministry of National Defence, in Bucharest, at
09.00, on Friday, 23 August. The event organized on the Commemoration Day of Fascism and Communism Victims was attended by representatives of the reserve and retired military personnel.

23 August was established as the Commemoration Day of Fascism and Communism Victims by Law 198/2011. The same law stipulates that 21 December is the Commemoration Day of Communism Victims of Romania.
