Ministry of National Defence
Press release No. 221 05.09.2013
Romania and Poland, Partners in NATO and EU Future Military Projects

It was the conclusion of yesterday's bilateral discussions of the two ministers held in Warsaw.

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, said he was confident the two countries have a considerable potential in developing bilateral military relations. 'High level consultations are proof of our excellent cooperation. I appreciate that Poland is open to embrace new military opportunities alongside Romania, according to NATO requirements', the Romanian official concluded.

Another topic on the official agenda was NATO planning for post 2014 Afghanistan.

Both ministers share the same view on NATO's Cyber Defence system as well as on EU military capabilities, which are also topics to be discussed at the European Council in December 2013. The visit in Poland will continue on 5 September when Minister Mircea Dusa is scheduled to meet the president of the Defence Committee of the Polish Parliament, Stefan Niesiolowski, and the chief of the Office of National Security, Koziej Stanislaw.
