The Informal reunion of EU defence ministers began in Vilnius, yesterday, with a first working session. The Romanian defence minister, Mircea Dusa, addressed the other officials saying that he would be interested in identifying pragmatic solutions for a wider participation of defence industry companies of member states in the common projects conducted in this field.

The European Council to be held in December 2013 will be an opportunity to give a new impulse to the development process of EU capabilities.

'Increased transparency and bilateral cooperation would not be possible without highest level commitment', minister Mircea Dusa said.

The Informal reunion of EU defence ministers will continue today, 6 September with a session dedicated to the preparations for the EU Council meeting at the end of the year.
