The MoND Press Office makes the following specifications with respect to the information delivered by the press on the procurement of a special transportation aircraft:

In Romania, as well as in other European Union state members, the special flights are performed by the Ministry of National Defence using aircrafts from its own fleet. The Government allocated 13.5 million lei by Budget Rectification Ordinance in order to initiate the procurement process of a special transportation capability.

Thus, the Air Force Staff and its specialized compartments are currently analyzing several options in order to identify the optimum solution.

Taking into account the above mentioned details, a potential discussion about the costs related to the acquisition of this aircraft is premature at present.
