During the official talks he had with his Turkish counterpart, Ismet Ylmaz, defence minister Mircea Dusa expressed the wish to establish a partnership in order to intensify cooperation in the defence industry field.
The development of military cooperation in the field of ballistic missile defence together with Poland- as previously discussed in the NATO Chicago Summit- was another topic of the meeting agenda.
On this occasion, Minister Mircea Dusa stated that Romania wishes to increase the political-military dialogue between the two institutions and the collaboration relationship between the two ministries by means of establishing direct partnerships between the armed forces’ Services.
Romania and Turkey have a long-standing tradition in the bilateral cooperation field which was turned into a Strategic Partnership since 2011. The Partnership was the starting point for the development of the programs between the two armed forces.
