Celebrating the Romanian Armed Forces Day

Romanian Armed Forces Day will be celebrated this year through a series of events organized in military units at home, in the countries where Romania has military attaches and in military bases where Romanian soldiers are deployed in theaters of operations.

Military service staffs, military commands and units across the country organize the Day of the Open Gates, as well as artistic, cultural and sports activities, meetings with war veterans, exhibitions, film galas and shows.

In front of the Memorial Ensemble in Carei, there will be military, religious and wreath-laying ceremonies, from 10.00, on Friday, 25 October.

In Bucharest, the wreath-laying ceremonies will take place on Friday, 25 October, in the following locations:
08.30 – the Monument of the heroes who died in the line of duty in theaters of operations or at home (Tineretului Park)
10.00 – The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (Carol Park)
12.30 – WW2 Heroes’ Memorial ('Carol I' National Defence University)
From 18.30, the troops of the 30th 'Mihai Viteazul' Guard Regiment will retreat with torches on the route: the Palace of the National Military Club - Regina Elisabeta Blvd. - Eroii Sanitari Blvd. - Prof. Dr. Gheorghe Marinescu St. – Cotroceni Highway - Iuliu Maniu Blvd. - Vasile Milea Blvd. – Timisoara Blvd.

'Regele Ferdinand I' National Military Museum in the capital city will organize the Day of the Open Days, on Friday, 25 October.

Over 800 students and pupils of military institutions will take the military oath on Thursday, 24 October. In Bucharest, the military oath ceremony will be organized at the Military Technical Academy from 11.00, at the Military Medical Institute from 09.00.
