On Monday, 4 November, the defence minister assessed together with the contractor representatives the stage of the modernization works at Fetesti.

The ongoing project is meant to rebuild or modernize: the runway, the arresting gear landing systems, the aircraft parking and maintenance platforms, the depots and the maintenance hangars.

Of the 32 Million Euros the project is worth, over 11 Millions are covered by the Ministry of National Defence, while the other 21 Millions are budgeted through NATO Security Investment Program.
