The Military Equipment and Technologies Research Agency (METRA) Received the Combat Colors

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, participated today, 7 November, in the ceremony when the Military Equipment and Technologies Research Agency was awarded the Combat Colors on the occasion of the Day of Defence Procurement.

The defence minister said related to this, that the military needs now, more than ever, an institution of this profile that is dynamic, modern, able to make the most of the human and financial resources allotted to defence procurement, the technical and industrial potential so that it can be a true strategic engine driving the transformation of the Romanian Armed Forces with a view to their full integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures.

'The Defence White Paper gives an objective analysis of the current situation of the military. It is time to transform and upgrade military technology in order to demonstrate we have reliable Armed Forces, that are up to the standards required by NATO and other international partners', minister Dusa pointed out. In his speech, the minister congratulated the Agency personnel for being awarded the Combat Colors.

Speaking of related fields of activity, the defence minister said the Romanian defence industry needs to regain its former prestige, while a close cooperation between the Romanian Ministry of National Defence and the companies in the defence industry field could be beneficial for both parties involved.
