Following the information released by the media, the Press Office of the Ministry of National Defence brings further information:

The Ministry of National Defence followed the procedures according to the laws and regulations in effect. IAR 330 M helicopters from Campia Turzii and Gearmata equipped with MEDEVAC kits were prepared to go on mission. Due to unfavorable weather conditions the helicopters could not leave. A mission conducted in bad weather conditions endangers both personnel and aircraft.

As the search area was quite large, the defence minister ordered that a detachment of the 317th Reconnaissance Battalion of Cluj join forces with the search parties of the other organizations involved.

Also, the defence minister ordered that a C-27 J Spartan aircraft equipped for MEDEVAC be prepared to take over the injured people to Bucharest.
Through its National Military Command Operational Center, the Ministry of National Defence cooperates with all operational centers of the central and local public institutions that are usually involved in such actions.
