The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, congratulated Ana Maria Branza for winning the gold medal in the Westend women's epee Grand Prix that took place in Budapest.

The fencer of the Military Sports Club Steaua won 15-7 over Irina Embrich (Estonia).

On her way to the finals, the military fencer won over both Italian Marta Ferrari and the Russian Lyubov Shutova in the semi-finals.

During the first stages of the competition, Ana Maria won over her competitors from Germany, Hungary and Sweden. Winning the World Cup in Budapest is the first individual victory of Ana Maria Branza in 2014.
