The Military Technical Academy Celebrates 65 Years of Existence

On its 65th anniversary, the Military Technical Academy organizes a series of events, on Friday, 16 May, that will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of National Defence, defence and public order structures, local authorities, reserve and retired military personnel and war veterans.

During a military ceremony organized at 10.00, the colors of the Military Academy will be decorated with the Medal '\"Military Virtue'\", rank of officer, with peace insignia.

Journalists interested in participating in the festivities, are expected to arrive at the academy location (39-49 George Cosbuc Blvd.), from 09.20, on Friday, 16 May.

The Military Technical Academy was established by Decree no. 371 of 1949, with the mission to train engineer officers with adequate technical education for the specific services, necessary to staff commands, units, formations, and specialized military institutions.
By Government Decision No. 550 of 17 May 1990, the Military Technical Academy was again set up as an independent higher education institution, after 31 years when it operated within the Military Academy. The Military Technical Academy is a military institution of higher technical education, evaluated by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) and the European University Association (EUA), it is responsible to the Ministry of National Defence and carries out education and research activities, trains military and civilian specialists from home and abroad for the defence, public order, security and defence industry.
