The Day of Military Engineers

The Land Forces celebrate 155 years since the Engineer Branch was established, on the last day of the month. Technique and equipment exhibitions, demonstrative exercises by EOD units, a scientific seminar on \'The Engineer Branch-Traditions and Perspectives\', an anniversary edition of \'The Engineer Branch Review', photo exhibitions of Engineers` missions are organized in Bucharest and garrisons across the country that host Engineer units. Open Gates Days will also be organized while Engineer troops that remarked themselves professionally and morally will be awarded honorary distinctions and diplomas.

The events in the capital city will start at 11.30 on Thursday, May 29, with a military and religious ceremony followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of Engineer Heroes (Leu Square). From 21.30, a detachment of the 96th Engineer Battalion will retreat with torches on the route from the Monument of Engineer Heroes (Leu Square) - Cotroceni Highway - Splaiul Independentei – Eroilor Blvd. – Eroilor Square. Commanders of Engineer structures in the Land Forces, active, reserve and retired military personnel, war veterans are invited to attend the activities.
