Wednesday, June 16, 04 an official delegation headed by minister of National Defence Ioan Mircea Pascu participated in Berlin to the ceremony organized by the German Atlantic Society dedicated to the admittance of the new states in NATO.

After the welcome messages of Ruprecht Polenz, president of the Society and Peter Struck Federal minister of Defence of the host country also took the floor the seven ministers invited to the festivities in the inner yard of Daimler Chrysler building in Postdamer Platz with the presence of the diplomatic body accredited in Berlin, German military officials and others invited personalities.

Minister Pascu thanked to the hosts for the invitation and stated: As a NATO member our efforts for increasing the regional stability are important for the European allies. Romania is an indivisible part of Europe and we do know our responsibilities. Integration Romania and Bulgaria within the European Union means that the Union will access to the Black Sea, an area of increasing interest for Europe and will control on the third part of the biggest river from the Continent, the Danube.

The speech of each of the ministers was preceded by artistic moments performed by players from the seven new members of the North Atlantic Alliance accompanied by Bundeswehr Band. Romania was represented by Stelian Ungureanu, at violin and Gheorghita Rizea at panpipe, both from Doina Artistic Assembly of the Romanian Armed Forces who played fragments of the Rapsodia Romana (Romanian Rhapsody) by George Enescu.
