The Ministry of National Defence, the Prefect's Institution and the Mayor's Office of Bucharest organize a public ceremony dedicated to the Day of the National Flag in Tricolorului Square of Bucharest, in front of the Palace of the National Military Club.

Activities will have the following program:

Wednesday, 25 June, form 19.00, a short ceremony will be organized of lowering the flag that will be then laid at the chapel of the 30th "Mihai Viteazul" Guard Regiment.

Thursday, 26 June, from 10.00, the flag will be taken to the square where it will be blessed by a military priest and then it will be hoisted against the background of the national anthem of Romania.

Representatives of civil, military and religious institutions were invited to attend along with defence attaches accredited to Bucharest, war veterans, reserve and retired military personnel.

Troops from other garrisons across the country will participate in public ceremonies for hoisting the National Flag organized by public authorities.

The Day of the National Flag was established by Law 96/1998 and is celebrated annually on June 26.
