New Repatriation Mission from Gaza

Friday, 8 August, a C-130 Hercules aircraft of the Romanian Air Force conducted a repatriation mission from Gaza of a group of Romanian citizens and evacuated citizens from other European countries to Romania.

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, approved the mission that was requested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and coordinated directly by the Prime Minister Victor Ponta.

The military aircraft with a crew under the command of Captain Commander Adrian Takacs, took off on Thursday, 7 August, from 'Henri Coanda\" International Airport, headed to 'Queen Alia' International Airport of Amman, Jordan, and returned to Bucharest today, 8 August, with 50 passengers on board. The passengers were Romanian citizens or citizens having the right to reside in Romania, most of them children, 5 Moldovan and 8 Hungarian citizens.

The Romanian Air Force participated today in the 3rd evacuation mission of 153 persons from Gaza, the number of persons, including family members, 9 citizens from Hungary and 5 from the Republic of Moldova.

The Ministry of National Defence will put at the disposal of the media, shortly, photos of the arrival of the evacuated people.
