The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, awarded prizes to the best sportsmen of Steaua Military Ports Club in 2014, during a ceremony that took place at the defence ministry, on Friday, December 19.

During the ceremony, the title 'Laureate of Year 2014' was awarded to twelve sportsmen, whereas Andreei Chitu (judo) was awarded the title 'Sportsman of Year 2014', Serban Iulian (kayak-canoe) was awarded the title 'Sportsman of Year 2014 - Paralympics', the title 'The Best Junior' was awarded to Iulianei Popa (rowing) while 'Team of the year 2014' was awarded to the water polo team.

The defence minister congratulated both the sportsmen that were awarded prizes and the coaches and club management, assuring them of the full support of the defence ministry in their training for the competitions of 2015.
