Friday, March 6, the Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, will participate from 10.00 hrs., in the ceremony dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the 22nd 'Ciresoaia' Mountain Battalion from Sfantu Gheorghe. The Combat Colors of the unit will be decorated with Order Military Virtue, knight rank, with peace insignia.

From 13.00 hrs., Minister Dusa will take part in the anniversary of the 24th 'General Gheorghe Avramescu' Mountain Battalion from Miercurea Ciuc. The Combat Colors of the unit will be decorated with The Emblem of Honor of the Romanian Armed Forces.

The 22nd Mountain Battalion participated in missions in theaters of operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Balkans. In 2013 and 2014 the battalion took part alongside US Marines deployed to Europe, in training modules for the multinational exercise 'Black Sea Rotational Force'. In 2010, the battalion received the Emblem of Honor of the Land Forces.

The 24th Mountain Battalion took part in missions in Congo and Afghanistan. Over the last two years the battalion took part, together with US troops, in training modules for the 'Black Sea Rotational Force 14'.
