The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, ordered that a C-27J Spartan aircraft ofthe Romanian Air Force, configured for MEDEVAC missions carry out an emergencyhumanitarian mission consisting in the transport from Baia Mare to Bucharest of twochildren who suffered burn injuries.

The military aircraft took off from the 90th Airlift Base in Otopeni, at 16.15 hrs. The patients are assisted during the flight by a medical team coordinated by SMURDwith the support of Major dr. Dragos Tudose, and Corporal paramedic Cristian Mihail,from the 90th Airlift Base.

The mission was requested by the Department for Emergency Situations of the Ministryof Internal Affairs and the crew consists in Commander Ion Staiculescu, Captain SimonaMaierean and WO George Baltescu.

The press office of the Ministry of National Defence will offer media images from thearrival of the aircraft during the evening.
