The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, will attend, together with EU defenceand foreign affairs ministers, the meetings of the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) and theEuropean Defence Agency (EDA) Steering Board in defence ministers' format that wouldtake place in Brussels, on Monday, May 18.

The main topic on the agenda of the EDA leadership meeting is preparing the EuropeanCouncil meeting on defence and security scheduled for late June, taking note of theprogress in implementing the conclusions of the European Council meeting of December2013, as well as proposing new priorities in developing capabilities.

At the same time, the CAE meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the stage of themilitary missions and operations conducted under the aegis of the Common Security andDefence Policy of the European Union.

Other subjects on the meetings' agenda are related to the necessity to review the EUSecurity Strategy in terms of the developments in the global security environment and toimplement the measures meant to ensure the access of small and medium-sizedenterprises to the military hardware market.
