Military personnel in all major garrisons of the country will participate, on Friday, June26, in the public ceremonies organized for the raising of the national flag. The ceremoniesare organized by the local authorities according to the provisions of Law 96/1998 on theProclamation of the National Flag.

In Bucharest, the ceremony of the National Flag Day, organized by the Ministry ofNational Defence, the Bucharest Prefect's and the Mayor's Office, will begin at 10:00hrs, in Tricolorului Square, in front of the National Military Club.

The event will be attended by soldiers of the ''Invictus Group Romania'', which willlaunch a public challenge on the respect for the national heroes and the National Flag, aswell as WWII veteran 2nd Lieutenant (R) Bogdan Ioan Petru, who will turn 90 exactly onJune 26.

At 18:00hrs, the Band of the 30th Mihai Viteazul Guard Regiment will hold a concert in the Carol I Park, while at 21:30hrs the soldiers will join in a march carrying a 50-m long flag and torches following a route that comprises the Universitatii Square — Bd. Regina Elisabeta — Opera Square — Carol I National Defence University — Cotroceni Palace—the headquarters of the regiment.
