Minister Mircea Dusa at the Ceremony Marking the Mountain Troops Returning Home

The Minister of National Defence, Mircea Dusa, will participate in the ceremonymarking the returning home of the 33rd Posada Mountain Battalion from Afghanistan,organized in the Central Square of Curtea de Arges, at 16.00 hrs., on Thursday,September 10.

After the ceremony, pianist Adrian Leonard Mociulschi and Pan flute player NicolaeVoiculet will give a concert in honor of the Mountain Troops, at George ToparceanuArt and Cultural Center of Curtea de Arges, as part of George Enescu.International Music Festival.Person of contact, Capt Ovidiu Ciobanu, GSM: 0748 233 788.

During their mission in Afghanistan, over February to September 2015, the main tasksof the Romanian soldiers were ensuring the protection of Kandahar military base andcounselling the Afghan security forces, thus contributing to the security climate neededfor the political and social stability of the area. So far, the 33rd Posada Mountain Battalion participated in four missions abroad, inTos of Iraq (UNAMI - September 2005 March 2006) and Afghanistan (ISAF III - June2007 January 2008, ISAF IV - July 2012 February 2013, RESOLUTE SUPPORT February-September 2015).

The concert held for the Romanian soldiers is organized by the Romanian CulturalInstitute in association with the Ministry of National Defence.

The two musicians willplay music composed by George Enescu, Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig vanBeethoven.
